• Retailers have often experienced more lucrative sales on the right hand side of a display stand, as customers tend to turn or look right when they first enter into an established engagement space. Whatever your trend, consider taking advantage of your engagement pattern and have your best and most enticing displays on the trending pathway (i.e. right hand side of your display). Once the customer looks right, create a visual guide that leads them back to the left (e.g. media presentation or banner) to take them on a journey that maximises exposure to as many of your products as possible.


• Where possible, add counter space to encourage customers to pause at the display, to encourage engagement or to make payment. (i.e. that personal assist space where customers can juggle handbags, shopping bags, fasten young children or place their bags while they find their credit cards).


• Always add an additional fixture or two at the payment/register area to encourage impulse buying. You can display discounted items or frequently bought items, so long as they are easily reached from the register space.
